1. Chicken tamale from the Chitown Tamale truck outside of work // 2. My Chitown Tamale baby diet coke that I couldn't get enough of (yes, I need help) // 3. On our way into the Cubs v. Rockies game // 4. The view from the Skydeck of Willis Tower // 5. Drinks at the Signature Lounge on the 96th floor of the John Hancock building // 6. The most ridiculously massive chocolate mousse pie from Gibson's
So, I got back from Chicago in one piece. You know, in case you were wondering. It has taken me a few days to get back into the swing of things. Who knew that laundry could literally multiple while it's in the suitcase?!
Speaking of suitcases... you know what's awesome? When you get back to DFW Airport and discover that some of the super hip and cool airline folks stripped and bent the back wheels of my luggage. Yeah. Let's just say that suitcase is now living in a little upper eastside dumpster with a fairwell tour to the trash heap in its immediate future. Sigh.
All in all, it was a great trip. I had fun getting to know the city better and as far as work trips go, I got a lot accomplished before taking a few days off for PTO. I'd call that a big fat win.
Also in the win category? Having the Gipsy Kings seated next to us at Gibson's on Saturday night. They played a couple of songs for the restaurant, talked with patrons and even hit on my friend and me. I'm not kidding. I'm not entirely sure the guy is actually in the band. But he loves his Texas women, his ex-girlfriend is a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader and he's actively looking to submit his resume for a date. Oh.... and he's somewhere in his 60s.
So on that note, many uber thanks to Kelly, Haley and Katy for keeping you kids busy in my absence. I hope you enjoyed getting to know them. They're fun ladies, I can promise you that.
