I have a love-hate relationship with protein powders.
I get the 'woo' factor -- extra protein means extra awesome muscles which means it's only a matter of time before I'm a full-fledged member of the DFW chapter of Fight Club.
... or something like that.
But it took me a good three years to find a protein powder that didn't give me heartburn, indigestion and/or some serious version of the burps and highly inappropriate and unnecessary belly bubbles. Finally, after a lot of interwebs research, I came across this Bluebonnet brand of whey protein.
And my world was rocked.
Needless to say, this is the only protein powder I buy now. It's awesome. And since I'm 'little miss health and wellness' nowadays... this stuff goes into my favorite shake (yeah, that'd be this one) and every form of protein bar I make.
I give this shake two big fat and happy thumbs up. It's good. It's great on the go when I'm kinda sorta almost running late for work. And it's got some added caffeine too. Go team.
Chocolate Coffee Protein Shake

8 oz almond milk, original and unsweetened
1 scoop chocolate whey protein powder
1 tsp instant coffee granules
2 Tbsp truwhip (or cool whip)
Combine all ingredients; blend well (I used my Magic Bullet). Serve immediately.
