Turnips are weird.
I can honestly say I had never eaten a turnip until I made this recipe. Pretty sad excuse for a 'foodie,' right?
Last week, I added a 'Surprise Me!' purchase to my Greenling order. For $2, I got a fun mystery veggie.... that I had absolutely no idea whatsoever to do with. Go Team Turnip?
When in doubt, slice it, slather it with oil, sprinkle something yummy on it and throw it in the oven. Pretty decent motto, I assure you. It's gotten me through a couple of unusual vegetable selections over the years.
